The Deliverance Ministry

Stand Firm, lest you'll Sin against God!

SEPTEMBER 2021

Greetings in Jesus Name! Scripture says in Mat 10:22 “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake but he that endureth to the end shall be saved”. Yes friends those who stand firm till the end only will be saved. Many have started a good race, but not much are still in the race of reaching God. Simple reason for this is, Sin no longer seems to be sin anymore, but has become part of our life. Does it look strange? But this is today’s situation! Bible says in 2 Tim 3:1 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” and in 2 Pet 3:3 “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts”. So what is the need of the hour? Stand firm for God, so that you’ll not fall into sin.

II Cori 5:1 says “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God and house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens”. This is what God wants us to understand. Many a time we fear at losing temporary things of this world, forgetting the fact that we have an eternal hope; ending up in losing both. Remember always, every sin we commit is that not against any man, but against our God Almighty. Looks controversial to you! Do you think this is a new doctrine; no, not at all. Holy Spirit wants us to be reminded of these basic Biblical truths which are being stopped from preaching, but rather only prosperity messages are being made. Every blessing in the scriptures comes along with a commandment. So if you want to attain the true prosperity try to be strong on basics. I would classify the modes of sinning against God in to three categories. i) Doing wrong things for the right reason and ii) Doing wrong things for no reason and iii) Doing wrong things when you forget Holy Spirit who is within you.

First, read I Samuel 25, before continuing to read this message. Here we find the story of Nabal and Abigail. Nabal was a rich man filled with evil doings and his wife was Abigail, a woman of good understanding and beautiful countenance (I sam 25:1-3). Here is situation where Nabal does evil against King David and in the later part we see God strikes Nabal, but before his death his wife Abigail pleaded with David for mercy. This is just an outline of the story, so what do we learn from this incident? Is it Nabal’s sin or Abigail good gestures? No, when you read I Sam 25:38-44, Bible says when David knew God has struck Nabal, he praised God, but immediately he called his servants and asked them fetch Abigail to be his wife. Remember by this time David had two wives Abinoam and Jezreel, and he wants the third. David thought he’s doing something good for Abigail, but he forgot the fact that there are various ways in which he could have helped her. Was one more wife, the need of the hour? No not at all. Many time believers fall into adultery or displease God just like this, they think they are doing the right thing but they are sinning against God. Do you think God likes this sought of act, definitely not? He is a Holy God and he expects us to do things which will edify ourselves, rather than doing wrong things for the right reason. Always remember when you do wrong things for the right reason, Soon you will find a wrong reason for doing the wrong thing. Be careful in your deeds since not everything that looks good are nor indeed good.

Second, read II Samuel 11, this is the most obvious sin which comes in to our mind when we think of King David. Background of the story is, it was the time for the kings to be on the battle field, but David sits back in his palace and allows his mind to wander, instead of enquiring God about the battle which he did every other time. As a king, David had everything in the palace and he had no reason to go to his terrace at that time. So, for no reason he allowed himself to commit adultery with Bath-Sheba. But what is the consequence of this adultery? Is it David’s Sin or Bath-Sheba’s Sin? No. It was the death of the innocent Uriah’s life who served so loyal to his King. The fact here is David had no reason to sin against God, but soon he found the reason to sin against God. Why do I say, David sinned against God? Ps 51:4 says “Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight”. Yes when David turned backed to God he realized the fact that he sinned against the Lord. Yes my dear ones in Christ, many a time we find ourselves going in for unwanted pleasures of this world rather forgetting the high calling for which God has ordained us. Be mindful of the things which can prevail over you, so that you can escape from the wrath of our God. Beware! We have our Holy Spirit who is so sensitive like a Dove. Eph 4:30 says, “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption”. Never dare to sin against Him, for there is no forgiveness. For those who don’t believe in Holy Spirit, its time you change your heart and start believing Him, for He is the one who can convict you of your sin. Never underestimate His power, for He is the one who can make you stand firm till the end.

Third, let’s take the same incident, and try looking it from a different angle. Many a time believers stagnate in their spiritual level and never really bother about growing up spiritually, which leads to backsliding. In case of David, he never realised that he had lost the relationship with the Holy Spirit. His mind was completely immersed in sin and he never realised the fact that he is doing sin against God. But still God loved him and made Prophet Nathan to speak to him through whom he realised the fact he had sinned against our Lord. It’s the same situation with many believers; we do things unpleasing in the sight of the Lord and never realize that you have sinned against God, that’s why I have written above sin doesn’t look like sin anymore. Many people think what they do is always right before the Lord; I tell you they are deceiving the world and themselves. In the day of Judgement God will tell these people, I never knew you, Beware! Holy Spirit needs to lead you always in your life rather you will fail in your spiritual life, miserably. Beware! If you forget Holy Spirit, you are doorsteps of sin. How to overcome sinning against God? Stand firm for God. Read Genesis 39, we see the story of Joseph and Potiphar’s wife. When Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce Joseph and to lie with him, Joseph stood firm for his God. In Gen39:9 Joseph says, “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee, because thou art his wife; how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? If we have this thought in our mind no devil can touch you rather you will never be shaken. Remember Joseph had every opportunity to sin against God and there was none to oppose him, but still his love for God made him stand for God in time of testing. Yes Joseph’s life is a real challenge to everyone who wants to stand firm for God. Stand Firm till the end and see the Glory of our Lord else you fall prey to the works of the satan.

Amen
