Striving Against Sin

“You have not yet resisted unto blood striving against sin” (Heb 12:4)

In the world today we face several things in life. So many kinds of conflicts where we fight. But is there a fight against sin? No, breaking the heart of God is sin. Only those who have a zeal for the Lord will strive against sin. My dear believers, who are washed by the precious Blood of JESUS CHRIST, are you ready to join in the fight against sin? Or do you want to compromise with the world and run into the lake of eternal fire? A decision today would commence a race against sin and strengthen our Zeal for JESUS CHRIST. From the Holy Bible let’s see if we could identify ourselves with those who fight against sin.

PROPHET NATHAN:- King David took the wife of Uriah to be his wife and put Uriah in the forefront of the battle just to kill him. God loved David but hated his wicked act. “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked everyday” (Ps 7:11) Prophet Nathan was not afraid to reveal the sin of King David though he knew that David could destroy him. Prophet Nathan condemned the sin of David (2 Sam 12:1-14) Prophet Nathan strove against sin by revealing even the sin of a king.

PROPHET ELIJAH:- King Ahab of Israel desired the vineyard of Naboth and killed the poor man Naboath and took his vineyard. Prophet Elijah condemned the sin of King Ahab and warned him of the curse that would follow. King Ahab trembled before prophet Elijah as he spoke ( 1 Kings 21:19-27) against the sin of King Ahab.

PROPHET JOHN:- Herod had taken the wife of his Brother Philip to be his wife. Knowing that Herod was the ruling representative of the Roman Empire. John the Baptist condemned the sin of Herod. “For John said unto him, it is not lawful for thee to have her”. (Mt 14:4) John was beheaded but he died as martyr striving against sin.

My dear believers, be prepared to strive against sin. “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear” (I Tim5:20) The Bible says, “When the Holy Spirit is come; he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgement. (Jn 16:8) Every prophet that spoke, moved by the Holy Spirit, Strove against sin to the extent of laying down their lives. This was their fight against sin. Commence your strife against sin from this very hour. Grace be with you all.
