The greatest festival that is celebrated in the whole world is Christmas that is the birth of JESUS CHRIST. The news about the celebration of Christmas is a Joyous occasion to the various Christian denominations. During the festival season of Christmas various denominations get together for Christmas carols etc.., The birth of JESUS brought light to the world of darkness. How true is the verse that people who sat in darkness saw a great light. The baby JESUS was born to bring redemption to the people living in sin. “ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call His name JESUS; for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Mat 1:21) The greatest joyous news in the world is the person getting redeemed from the sins. The one who brought the good news was JESUS CHRIST. In the old testament, the Jews used to offer the lamb or dove as a sacrifice for the atonement of their sins. The Non-Jews had no way of getting redemption from their sins. The birth of JESUS CHRIST has brought a good news to the whole world.

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a saviour which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10,11). The above verse clearly states that the birth of JESUSCHRIST is the Good news to the whole world. Before the birth of JESUS the Jews, sacrificed goats as an atonement for their sins. After Jesus came into the world, the sacrifice of the lamb of God was a perfect redemption for all mankind. Today people go to many places in order to get forgiveness for their sins. Moreover to get forgiveness of their sins sacrifice their body or they do not hesitate to kill themselves, also. JESUS CHRIST gave salvation to mankind freely. When we cry to JESUS CHRIST asking Him to forgive our sins, He forgives us our sins. “…that Christ JESUS came into the world to save sinners…”(1 Tim 1:15). The above verse testifies the reason for JESUS coming in to this world. The birth of JESUS CHRIST was not for one particular religion or a particular sect but glad news for the entire mankind.

No man had ever seen God” And without controversy great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in to glory” (1 Tim 3:16). The people in the world long to see the God who had created them. Therefore the invisible God, came as a baby JESUS to have a human form. JESUS CHRIST is the God incarnate in flesh. JESUS said,” He that hath seen me hath seen the invisible God. It is a fact, that we see the Almighty God in the form of JESUS. JESUS CHRIST had the good qualities of holiness, spake only truth, a sinless person, long suffering and a compassionate heart. The one who has come to redeem mankind must be free from sin. JESUS CHRIST possessed every qualities of being a redeemer. Christ was manifested in the flesh on Christmas day. We are here to have a blessed experience of seeing Him. If we celebrate Christmas without understanding the birth of Christ, then our celebration is in vain.

The Bethlehem baby had no place to be born, but the manger. When Mary was groaning in agony as to where she could deliver the baby, at last He was born in a poor form in an ordinary place. Friend, does JESUS have a place in your heart? If you have not accepted the baby of Bethlehem n your heart, accept Him today. Without accepting JESUS CHRIST as your personal Saviour there is no point in your celebrating Christmas. Before you decorate your house; Have you decorated your heart first? Friend, those who love to go for carol rounds in the night, how about you joining street preaching during the day. There is no reference for Carol rounds in the Bible. Once a pastor told me that he is going to visit his Church members to night to tell them that JESUS was born. I asked him immediately it is really sad to know that your church members are not aware of the birth of JESUS CHRIST. He replied the night carol rounds are only for collection. How sad it is! I have seen the evil activities during carol rounds. Let us visit houses with prayerful attitude invoking the power of God to bring down His blessings upon the families, we visit. Let us celebrate a meaningful Christmas. God hates unwanted traditions and unbiblical rituals. Let us proclaim the birth of JESUS to everyone.
