Many accept JESUS CHRIST as their personal saviour. It is sad to see that many instead of abiding in Christ backslide. Many who backslide never repent and come back to His fold. Many traditional Christians fear salvation experience because they think that if I accept Christ as my saviour will I stand for ever. Hence they shun salvation experience. The Bible says, He that endureth till the last shall be saved. In my 42 years of spiritual walk, God hath preserved my salvation experience. Let us examine our heart and find out whether we really fear God. Never take for granted that we are abiding in Christ. Having come to His fold, let us complete the spiritual race before us. We will see now the ways of abiding in Christ.

THIRST FOR THE WORD OF GOD: “As new born babies desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby”. (1 Peter 2:2) As new babies long for milk, in the same way people who accept Christ into His heart should long for sincere milk ie. The word of God. Each and every church will give their own way of Biblical interpretation to suite their Church doctrines. When we read the Bible the Holy Spirit will correct us. At times while reading the Bible we understand the wrong teachings given in the Churches. Bible is our guide. The Bible says blessed is a person that meditates the scriptures. The word of God must be hid in our hearts. Only then our prayers will be answered. (John 15:7; Prov 28:9).As we keep on reading the Bible we renew our strength. The Bible encourages us; it increases our faith in God. The Bible says those who walk according to the scriptures are called as righteous people. We should fear the Word of God only. Let us not fear the preacher who pollute the word of God or twist the word of God to their own thinking. Don’t pay heed to preacher who deviates from the path of God. I have heard so many preachers giving the date of second coming of Christ. The Bible very clearly says no one will know when the second coming will be but the Father in Heaven. Many have misinterpreted the word of God and caused damnation to themselves. Let us read the word of God as it is. Let us pray that God would open our eyes to see the wonders in the law (Ps119:18). Let us cleave to the word of God and run our Christian life triumphantly.

PERSONAL PRAYER LIFE: Every born again brothers and sisters should have an individual prayer life. Instead of having a corporate prayer, we should have an individual prayer life. (Mark 1:35, Luke 5:14) We should spent more time in prayer to God. More we pray individually, the more we will be drawn close to God. Blessed is a person who has a close walk with God. When your personal prayer life goes down, satan will try to interfere in our spiritual life. My dear prayer warrior, remember you should take care your family also. Enoch walked with God. At the same time he was with his family.(Gen 5:22-24). When you pray on your knees in right angled triangle position you will be blessed. Praying on your knees will enable you to grow spiritually. When we pray in the kneeling position, the glory of Christ will be seen in your face. When we pray on your knees we can see the vision clearly, the satan will start trembling. We will have a close intimacy with God. Your individual prayer life will be like a fort around you and enable you to grow spiritually.

DESIRE TO DO MINISTRY: Those who have a salvation experience must have a desire to do ministry. JESUS CHRIST went about winning souls. “Woe is unto me, if I preach not the Gospel.”(I Cor 9:16). It is the duty of every believer to involve himself in the ministry. “He that winneth souls is wise” (Prov 11:30) When your thirst for Gospel work increases, your soul will rejoice in the Lord. When your desire for ministry goes down your relationship with God will be cut off. Those who have an evangelical mind will never backslide. There is only one life and it will soon be past what you have done for Christ will last. Avoid friendship with those who hinder Gospel work. I have preserved my salvation because I never have relationship with those who speak against Gospel work. Remember when you don’t have a concern for another soul, it means your soul is dead. Your soul will rejoice when you have burden for winning people to Christ. Let the desire to do His work increase in you.

STRIVE AGINST SATAN: “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”(Jam 4:7) A believer will abide in Christ only when he resist the devil. A believer should be careful from falling into the trap set by the devil. St.Paul lashed out to the Corinthian believers about their sins in his first letter to Corinth Church. St.Paul fired the believers at Galatia. Ye have started your life in the spirit and ended in flesh. He addresses them as foolish Galatians (Gal3:3). Let us be careful about the evil works of satan.

Take heed to the advices given above and prepare to meet your God’ (Amos 4:12) Let us run the spiritual race and receive the crown of eternal life.
